Before I tell you exactly how you can get summer ready there is something pretty important I would like to address first.
I wholeheartedly believe that a “summer body” is any shape and size body that the individual feels comfortable in.
In recent times I have noticed a pretty big shift in how society are viewing body shapes, and an increased acceptance of ones own body regardless of appearance.
In my eyes this is awesome! We’re all built differently, and we all experience varied levels of difficulty when it comes to our ability to lose weight and maintain our body goals.
So instead, I like to view a summer body as being internally healthy, and as a flow on affect of the summer body guide I am about to share, you are guaranteed to not only lose weight, but learn exactly how to maintain it long term.
Health is key. Over eating the wrong foods (or any food for that matter) is going to cause you to gain excess weight and as a result, you put your health a risk.

Important steps to getting a summer body
1. Being ready for a permanent lifestyle change
If you are seriously determined to reach your body goals and learn how to maintain them long term then you MUST be read for a lifestyle change. This doesn’t mean changing your eating habits for a couple weeks to drop the pounds in hopes that you’ll have long term success.
This means making permanent lifestyle changes in order to have long term success. Easy? Well that all depends on…you.
You must be mentally read for a lifestyle change.
If you are mentally ready for a lifestyle change, I truly believe you’ve accomplished one of the hardest parts of the process.
Recognize the personal changes that need to be made
Now this might not be as easy for some as it is for others to recognize the changes that need to be made. This will usually depend on your current level of knowledge when it comes to health and fitness.
If you’re a fast-food Uber-eats addict then chances are the changes to be made will be quite obvious! 🙂
Or, maybe you just struggle to control how much you’re eating in one sitting, or late night snacking. Whatever it is, the problem needs to be recognized so that it can be fixed.
So recognition that a lifestyle change must happen in order to reach and maintain your body goals or “summer body” is the first step to success.
2. Change your diet
Now this one is the most obvious step to getting a summer body. But, if you’re not ready for a lifestyle change first, then changing your diet will be hard to do and maintain long term.
You can workout all day long, but if you’re over eating, you will be wasting your time if weight loss is your goal.
Eliminate processed foods from your diet as much as possible. They will do you absolutely no favors in any way. Processed foods cause water retention, bloating, energy spikes followed by lows, fluctuating moods, fatigue, lack of energy, lack of motivation and of course, weight gain.
Instead replace unhealthy processed foods with healthy, whole foods that are full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals that will put you on a fast track to losing weight and reaching your body goals.

Keep carbs intake moderate to low, eat a lot of protein for strength, growth and recovery and include healthy fats such as avocados olive oil and salmon.

Exercise isn’t always necessary to lose weight, as diet is number one, but it will definitely help fast track your weight loss journey by pairing the two.
regular activity can really improve your quality of life. I recommend 30 minutes per day. This does not have to be strenuous physical activity. But getting up and moving around in some way can have many great health benefits.

- May help you feel less fatigued and improve your mental focus.
But i’m not motivated to exercise….
Fair enough! I sometimes lose motivation to exercise too. But you know why? Because I haven’t set myself a goal or have an image in my head of what I want to achieve.
Set yourself a goal, picture what that looks like and if you’re truly passionate about reaching it and it excites you, then you wont lack motivation.
Keep your exercise activity interesting. Change it up, find a fitness personality who helps to motivate you, get into the gym and see ways other people are reaching their goals. Whatever your preferred form of exercise may be, go for it and keep challenging yourself!
4. Stay consistent
Consistency is the final and most important step to maintaining a summer body all year round.
If you stay consistent, you will reach and maintain your weight loss and body goals.
This the absolute best tip I can give you.
You cant depend on motivation, a short-lived healthy diet, and sporadic exercise to reach and maintain your body goals.
You absolutely must stay consistent. As always said, all good things take time, and its no different when it comes to our bodies.
You need to discipline yourself and create better habits that force you to stay consistent.
We dont always want to go to work, or run errands, but we do because we need to for us to survive, have luxuries and get to where we want to be. That’s discipline and doing it consistently.
It is the same with reaching our body goals. Train yourself to focus on your goals, set challenges and work for it every day. This is all about the life style change we need to create right at the beginning.
I can promise you it will be worth it and over time it becomes much easier!
