6 health and beauty tips all girls should know

    Being a girl myself, I know how much we love to know some great beauty tricks and tips.

    This is why I have compiled 6 of the best and most effective beauty habits all girls should know.

    1. Tooth brush scrub and shea butter for lips

    This is a great trick for anyone to do, but especially if you are someone who often suffers from chapped lips.

    Before bed or any time of the day, scrub your lips gently for 30 seconds-to a minute with your toothbrush to exfoliate and then apply shea butter to your lips to moisturise and hydrate.

    I try to do this as often as I can to keep my lips moisturized and looking nice.

    2. Cold rinse your hair after washing for stronger, healthier hair

    Many beauty gurus with agree that rinsing your hair with cool water after washing can be great for your hair health. 

    Apparently cold helps to seal the cuticle, thus sealing in the conditioner.

    Warm water opens the cuticle and allows your shampoo and conditioner to penetrate the hair. Once the conditioner has been on for its recommended time, rinse it out with cool water to seal the conditioner into the hair.

    3. Coconut oil on face before sleep

    When you think of coconut oil you might think about cooking food with it… but it is very versatile and is an amazing skin and beauty product!

    Coconut oil is extremely hydrating and works as a very effective and natural moisturizer.

    But one important thing to note is to make sure it is organic virgin cold pressed coconut oil, not industrial coconut oil!

    If you have oily skin or are prone to acne this might not be the best option for you as it may worsen skin condition and clog pores.

    If you have normal to dry skin this is a great option!

    coconut oil protects the skin, forming a barrier to prevent further damage from day-to-day living.

    Coconut oil has properties similar to the skin’s own natural defense, meaning it can help restore the skin’s natural protection allowing it to heal from the damage caused by pollution or cosmetics.

    It also helpsto keep the body healthy, functioning, and free of disease.

    Oxidation can damage skin leaving it looking old; therefore, antioxidants, such as those in coconut oil, can help counter this process leaving you with healthy, younger-looking skin.

    4. Minimize dark circles under eyes with cold tea bags

    I am one person who tends to get dark circles under my eyes.

    The reason this appears in some people more often than others is because the thin around the eyes is thinner.

    One study has found that caffeine can help cure the dark circles that we often wake up to!

    So how do I use caffeine to fix this? No you don’t need to drink coffee or rub coffee powder around your eyes 😉

    Brew some tea and put the teabags in the fridge until they’re cold.

    Lie down and place the tea bags on your eyes with your eyes closed and lie there for 5-10 minutes.

    The caffeine will constrict the blood vessels and minimize or remove the dark circles.

    5. Olive, castor or coconut oil for longer stronger eyelashes 

    Wash your face with warm water and whatever wash/scrub/exfoliator you use and make sure all make up is gone.

    Pour oil of your choice (or a mix of coconut and castor oils) into a small dish, about 5 drops.

    Using a cotton bud dip it into the oil and gently rub over your eye lashes, covering them all well. 

    Leave over night and try not to rub your eyes. In the morning wash your face and repeat this process each night. 

    Do this consistently and you should start to see longer, stronger beautiful lashes in 2-3 months!

    6. A health low carb diet

    Now this is a long term health and beauty tip that easily tops all of the above when it comes to inner and outer health.

    A diet high in carbs makes us feel sluggish, lack energy and is often full of processed unhealthy foods.

    Too many processed foods and carbs can cause a build up of toxins in our body and play havoc on our health and skin. 

    Eating too many carbs can also cause weight gain. 

    A diet high in protein and low in carbs, or a diet high in healthy fat and low in carbs (keto)

    not only help with weight management but also be extremely beneficial on your body inside and out.
